Mr. Birger Arnbom

 

    Birger Arnbom was born on October 21, 1901, in Sundborn, Sweden.  He came to the United States when he was 3 years old in 1903.  They moved to Portland in 1911.  He married Ella M. and they had two daughters; Mrs. Jack London and Mrs. Kenneth Walton.  Mr. Armbom was an instructor at Benson Polytechnic High School for 25 years.  Birger was a faithful worshiper at Temple, of which he baptized and became a member on April 8, 1928.  He was Superintendent of the Sunday School for several years.  When I attended Benson High School in the late 1950's, Mr. Arnbom was my counselor.  He also taught wood shop.
    Birger Arnbom died on November 27, 1961.
