Betty's Dinner on Wednesday evening

Mr. Ken McCarthy designed and oversaw construction of the new kitchen on the second floor of the addition added to the back of the church in 1983-84.  The kitchen was named and dedicated as "Ruth's Kitchen" in honor of Mrs. McCarthy in 1989.

In later years the kitchen, especially on Wednesday evenings, was known as "Betty's Diner" in honor of Mrs. Betty Carlson who ran the operation for many years until she retired.  Dinner is served for the groups who met that evening.

This plaque is hanging over the serving counter of the kitchen

"Command them to so good, so be rich in good deeds , and to be generous and willing to share.  In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life."                     1 Timothy 6:18-19
