Don Van Polen
" When first moving to Washington State in
1967, I practically ran through its mountains and valleys. I was
over whelmed by the splendor and purity of nature, the over-whelming shout of
silent beauty; and I made a solemn promise to the Lord that if He would bless
our photographic efforts, I would certainly honor Him in the work I did. I
trust that this program also fills that promise.
Each flower that opens its frail beauty, the wild bird that
lifts its morning song to welcome the returning light;; the perfect order in the
midst of confusion; in the quiet homes clustered in the valleys or climbing the
hillsides; in the silence of the woods where the hushed wind drowns out the rush
and roar of the crowded cities; it is all "My Father's World".
We will wander from room to room in this great house which God has built for us
and where He speaks to us, and we will wonder all the way at the riches and
wonders stored in each chamber and will be filled with gratitude that the Great
Creator chooses to communicate with His creation."
words by Don Van Polen
When Don and Fran Van Polen first came to
temple, he used three huge roll up movie screens and a bank of professional
slide projectors. It was quite a process and an ordeal to get all his
equipment packed into the church but it was well worth the effort. It
ended up with panoramas with a width of about 40 feet wide and 12 feet
high. His photography is outstanding. Don has gone all over
the
world taking pictures and making multi-media presentations to inspire thousands
of people every year with color, song and scripture. We enjoy the
photography of Don and Fran every year as they present their message of God's
Majesty on the movie screen.
Today Don and Fran have gone hi-tech. They use
digital movie cameras that record sounds as if you were standing right there.
You can hear the river flow, the water fall rush, wind blow and birds
singing. Words cannot express the beauty that lies before you.
