Young People's Society

A young people's society was organized January 29, 1888. with a membership of seventeen.  L. Larson was the first president, but served only a short time after which Pastor Hayland led the young people's work until he left Portland to return to Nebraska.
Much interest in foreign missions was aroused and the Young People's Society began contributing $40.00 a year to Dr. Ola Hanson's work in Burma.  This was continued for more than forty years.
