J. A. Huggert

Pastor J. A. Huggert

Pastor J. A. Huggert became the minister in October, 1902, and continued until the late summer of 1905 when ill health made it necessary to close his work.  During Pastor Huggert's time, the old church on Twelfth was sold and a new building at Northwest Fifteenth and Hoyt was dedicated on September 17, 1905 in conjunction with the annual meetings of the Oregon Swedish Baptist Conference.  This was an exciting year for Portland in that it hosted the Lewis & Clark Exposition, which attracted thousands from all over the world.

"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."
1 Peter 5:7  KJV
